San Diego artist Lisa Smith has a strong sense of the conceptual. In inanimate objects she sees life and story – symbolism, mystery and metaphor. Everything to Lisa is some sort of new adventure. She is always trying new things, jumping about from place to place, rarely letting the dust settle, exploring constantly. Her personal mantra of “Embracing Randomness” reminds her to see something wondrous in an apparently aesthetically-lacking environment. Lisa has been a Lensbaby fan from the first moment she laid her hands on it (back when it premiered at WPPI) and takes it wherever she goes, espcecially on photo adventures. It’s not too much to say that the Lensbaby and Embracing Randomness go hand in hand!
Lisa is a professional photographer who specializes in fine art commissions, creative portraiture, conceptual pieces and commercial assignments. Lisa also teaches creativity seminars for photographers and is working on a creativity DVD that will come out in spring 2008. Her award-winning work is published in several photography books and magazines and she has shown in various fine art galleries in Southern California.
